Frequently Asked Questions
What is Δ8 THC?
Δ8 THC is just like its chemical sibling Δ9 THC with two important exceptions. First, when derived from federal hemp sources, it is federally LEGAL, unlike all the other THC from state sponsored dispensaries and the like. Δ8 THC gives you total peace of mind. The second distinction pertains to the location of certain double atomic bonds and their position. Click for more detailed explanation and picture.
How do you get legal Δ8 THC from hemp with no THC?
The Cannabis sativa L species is the same for both illegal marijuana and industrial hemp. They both produce a variety of different and distinct molecules relatively unique to the species. With modern scientific extraction, refinement, and processing techniques we can isolate and even change those molecules to the ones we want in order to derive the products you see here at ImpelCBD.com.
What cannabidiol (CBD)?
Cannabidiol or CBD for short is the most prevalent cannabinoid in industrial hemp. It can be used to derive many other cannabinoids as well in a laboratory. Since all of their structures are quite similar CBD can be used as the basic building block for other cannabinoids like Δ8 THC and even THC-V.
What effects can I expect from Impel CBD cannabidiol (CBD) products?
In general CBD is not considered to be psychoactive, although some users note a feeling of calm or well being from using CBD. CBD does not create a “high” or euphoric feeling. By design, many ImpelCBD.com products contain only the purest form of crystalized CBD and no detectable THC of any kind, be it Δ8 or Δ9 THC.
Will CBD or Δ8 THC interact with my other medications negatively?
The bottom line is always ask your physician before adding something new to your regimen. Like any other active ingredients, CBD and Δ8 THC have to be metabolized out of your system. As your body is doing that process, the cannabis molecules in our products may change the way your body does that for other drugs as well as change other processes in your body as well. For most users, this is in fact the whole point of the experiment.
What is the difference between the CBD found in medical or recreational dispensaries and the CBD I can get from ImpelCBD.com?
First, we know that corrupt world well. The only difference is the extra price and taxation. CBD from ImpelCBD.com and CBD from a medical dispensary is chemically identical and extracted directly from the same species. Here is the dirty little secret your expensive dispensary and your state treasurer do not want you to know. Cuttings from the SAME high CBD/Low THC mother plant which are planted in a garden licensed to grow marijuana are called marijuana EVEN when their Δ9 THC content is below 0.3%. The other cuttings when grown in a field registered as an industrial hemp field are called hemp and become federally legal sources for CBD, Δ8 THC and more.
This is both crazy and sad. The state governments involved in licensing recreational and medical marijuana dispensaries who sell both CBD and THC rich products, like California, are deeply involved in a consumer fraud often implying that there is a difference. The more they push that fraud the more 15% excise tax the state collects on non-federally legal marijuana products!
Products developed from hemp licensed fields, even in California, are not subject to the 15% excise tax you pay at the dispensary. Does anyone else see the perverse incentive trail here? Switch over to ImpelCBD.com. Be smarter and save money.
What is the difference between ImpelCBD.com CBD products and the “CBD” products I see on eBay or Amazon.com?
Neither eBay policy nor Amazon.com rules allow products with actual CBD or Δ8 THC in them. The legality of the molecules is source dependent and requires the attention of a true specialty retailer, like ImpelCBD.com. We must track the CBD and Δ8 THC molecules back to a permitted source of federal hemp or to a licensed processor who does the same. That minutia is just beyond the interests and capabilities of the mega players.
The origin of the material matters and that is not knowable from simple lab testing because chemically speaking its all identical. The paper trail for legal hemp derived molecules is exacting and necessary. This would be like asking eBay and Amazon to be able to certify the origins of the cotton fiber used in all the clothes sold on their platform by third parties. It’s just not practical for the giants.
Our parent company is actually a registered seller at Amazon.com but we cannot sell ANY of the ImpelCBD.com products there because they do contain actual CBD and or actual Δ8 THC. There are dozens of hemp “CBD” products listed there, however, you must read the ingredient fine print very carefully to find the consumer deception. Look for the words Hemp Seed Oil, or just Hemp Oil in the ingredients list.
Hemp seed oil contains no CBD. CBD is produced in the flowers of Cannabis L Sativa not the seeds. Every stoner knows to plant and grow the seeds from their stash. They never smoke them! There is zero there in terms of CBD or THC. The most deceptive products are the topical products found on Amazon and eBay with astronomical (often in the 1000’s of milligrams) hemp oil claims. They have 1000’s of milligrams of hemp seed oil indeed but this is still zero milligrams of actual CBD. They are not the same thing! These online products are cleverly named and packaged to mislead consumers.
Follow the profit incentive and you have an answer as to why these platforms allow such clever consumer deception. You honestly don’t need that much real CBD to have a very effective topical. Even our own Arnicanna Lotion™ formula has way more CBD than is necessary to achieve the desired results. Topical CBD on hands and joints in particular is potent stuff. Hemp Seed oil is salad oil. You can load up for pennies per ounce at your local health food store or online right here. See for yourself. It’s great on lettuce but that is where it belongs.
If you want help evaluating a product from a mega retailer call us. We will help you read and understand more clearly. Nothing angers us more than frauds perpetuated on people actually needing help.
The great advantage of being very smart and very honest is that you can choose to do nearly anything to make a good living without resorting to being dishonest. Call us for help and refer family and friends with confidence.
What effects can I expect from Impel Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ8 THC) products?
Δ8 THC products are definitely euphoric when used in large enough doses, the products are considered psychoactive. They are often the products most sought out by recreational marijuana users looking for a legal substance that makes them feel immediately “medicated”. These are the products that we like to say “make here better now”. Although this phase has very different meanings as well. See our history section for a good laugh and get to know us more as the people we really are.
What is the difference between high concentration Δ8 THC in Impel Δ8 THC products and common Δ9 THC like I can get at a state medical or recreational dispensary?
Mostly the federal legal status of Δ8 THC and the lower price/tax. The effects are quite similar. Most consumers cannot tell the difference or they prefer Δ8 THC from ImpelCBD.com. Both Δ8 THC and Δ9 THC are considered to be psychoactive. They can both induce a feeling of “high” or euphoria. They both can cause altered perceptions of time, space, movement and more.
Either can result in giggling, laughing or feelings of deep introspection or relaxation. They commonly induce feelings of increased appetite called “the munchies”. In the right quantities, and formulations, either molecule can cause you to feel drowsy or sleepy. See: The acute effects of cannabis on human executive function. Do not drive while using or feeling the effects of Δ8 THC or Δ9 THC. You can get a DUI while using THC. Use responsibly!
Some literature claims that Δ8 THC is slightly less euphoric than Δ9 THC. We have not found that to be true. They are remarkably similar. In fact, the purity and careful dosing of our products may make them feel more potent than the more expensive Δ9 THC products you may be used to enjoying from your local dispensary at a greater price.
Other literature claims that appetite increase is more or less with one or the other. Again we have not felt a difference. If you have ever used regular Δ9 THC you know exactly what to expect from Impel Δ8 THC.. Keep in mind that the normal variations noted by users based on method of THC ingestion; inhaling vs ingestion, vs sublingual use are all essentially the same for both Impel Δ8 THC and regular Δ9 THC. We cannot stress this enough. If you are already a Δ9 THC expert you are also a Δ8 THC expert.
You will be utterly and completely impressed by the similarity in feelings and effects especially if you are a strictly recreational user. Except for federal legality, and the lower out the door price of Δ8 THC they are essentially interchangeable molecules. See our Fuss Free Returns guarantee under Easy and Worry Free. Tell a friend.
Are Impel CBD and Δ8 THC federally legal?
Yes, Impel CBD and Impel Δ8 THC products are from Cannabis sativa L sources whose original Δ9 THC concentration was not more than 0.3 percent on a dry weight basis that meet the federal rules described here in the federal law.
That is just a fancy way of explaining that Impel CBD and Impel Δ8 THC are legal by federal statute and they have been since the passage and signing of the “Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018” aka The 2018 Farm Bill. So breathe a sigh of relief in general but don’t skip the rest of the detail below because this does not mean you can necessarily use it on the job or even after work hours. See below.
We want you to protect yourself from any risk of professional harm. All of the consumer ready finished products here are also tested after production to ensure that the finished consumer product also achieves a test result showing that the Δ9 THC content is still below the 0.3% limit set for the source material itself. Every ImpelCBD.com product has its Certificate of Analysis (COA) in the picture section for each product. Final analysis is performed only by independent third party laboratories in which ImpelCBD.com its owners, managers, etc. have no financial interest. This is just as it should be in our opinion.
Can I use Impel CBD and THC products if I am subject to drug testing at work?
Probably not! Δ8 THC in particular, because of its extreme similarity and near identical effects as the common and prohibited Δ9 THC, may show up on personal drug screening tests as the illegal Δ9 THC. User beware!!! The Department of Transportation published a special CBD notice for pilots, school bus drivers, truck drivers, train engineers, transit vehicle operators, aircraft maintenance personnel, fire-armed transit security personnel, ship captains, and pipeline emergency response personnel, among others, urging caution with even just plain CBD products. We recommend that all persons subject to drug testing for professional reasons AVOID ALL Δ8 THC products and even some cannabidiol (CBD) products. This includes medical professionals.
This may also come into play, if you have a workplace injury even if you are not working in one of the special categories described above. An employer could use a positive test to try and deny you workman’s compensation benefits. Check with your human resources department before using any ImpelCBD.com products.
In general the responsibility to prove that you have not used the illegal Δ9 THC falls onto the user not the tester, be it an employer or regulatory agency. Since it is difficult at best to prove a negative point, you could be left having done nothing wrong but unable to prove that this is so. Don’t risk it!
ImpelCBD and ImpelTHC branded products are sincerely formulated to enhance your life. We do not wish to make it more difficult for any reason. DO NOT USE any Impel products containing any detectable limits of Δ8 THC or Δ9 THC if you fall into the special class of professionals subject to drug screening. Also avoid all broad spectrum CBD products like tinctures. These types of products always have traces of Δ8 THC and or Δ9 THC. Often times these trace levels are undetectable when in matrix. See the chocolate chip cookie example in the potency claims section. We often know it is there but the final COA may not have detected it due to the extreme dilution factor. Call us for clarification. It’s ok to ask us for help, really.
Can I use Impel CBD and THC products if I am under court orders to not use marijuana?
Probably not! Check with the particular court or your specific probation officer for clarification and get that clarification in writing before you use any Impel products. We know this seems silly but this is still a very new law and many agencies are still working out the details. It took the DEA almost two full years to publish its interpretation in the Federal Register. Sweeping changes take time to be absorbed by all. Our products really are on the cutting edge of the developing new laws as well as existing common drug screening tests. Some common drug tests cannot differentiate between CBD & either form of THC. See also the drug testing at work section for further information.
